Equipment Financing Laser Focused

Brantley and Norman had run a successful laser tag arena for years in their community’s largest shopping center. They had a number of regulars and were also a popular spot for parties and events. As their city and the surrounding community grew, so did the demand for recreational facilities like theirs. When the opportunity to double the size of their facility came, the result of the store next door moving to a new location, they seized it. Believing the timing was perfect, Brantley and Norman signed the lease on the new square footage and completed much of the build out themselves, expanding the space of their laser tag arena.

Laser tag is an adrenaline pumping game featuring state of the art equipment. Teams work to capture their opponent’s base as lights flash and music pulsates. With the addition remodeled, Brantley and Norman felt the time was right to upgrade all their laser tag equipment as well as their sound system, smoke machines, and all that was needed to provide an elaborate gaming experience for their players. Their goal is to double their player capacity, provide an exceptional event space for corporate groups, birthday parties, and other events, and continue to cater to their regulars.

 

Norman took on the task of pricing the new laser tag gear, while Brantley tackled the other electronics – music, smoke machines, lights, etc. They are currently estimating the cost of equipment for the new area at $75,000 and a refresh to the existing space at the same rate, bringing the combined total to $150,000.

After researching loan options, Brantley and Norman believe equipment financing to be their best option. With equipment financing they can lease the equipment and purchase exactly what they require outright at the end of the lease term. They feel they can repay the financing over a short period of time with the anticipated increase in customers and revenue. They provided the needed paper work – revenue reports, bank statements – and with the help of a great credit score, the new equipment was delivered and installed.

They were able to add additional player setups and saw a steady increase in players and an even greater increase in booking group events. In less than a year, as the lease came to it’s end, they were able to purchase all the new state of the art equipment, software, and electronics outright. Due to their continued success, they have future plans to add additional equipment as needed and open a second laser tag location in a neighboring city.
